Gas Turbine Power Plants burn fuels in a high-pressure combustion chamber that produces hot gases. The gases go through a turbine which spins turning the copper wire (armature) inside the generator and generating electricity. The most efficient way to use gas or oils is in a combustion-cycle system which combines two means of producing electricity. This uses hot gases from the combustion chamber to spin the gas turbine, the turbine spins, turing the copper wire (armature) inside the generator and generating electricity. The system then carries the still-hot gas leaving the combustion turbine to a 'waste heat' steam boiler where the heat from the gas produces steam. The steam turns the turbine, which is connected to a second generator and produces electricity. The steam then goes to a condenser which turns the steam back to water to repeat the cycle.
