What is Hydroelectricity?

Hydroelectric power is a concept that was first utilised many hundreds of years ago by the Romans to power there watermills and latter spread tough the rest of Europe and why not. It is hard to imagine how much power a flowing river carries, one can truly appreciate this when they are exposed to it in a white water rapid or a whirlpool.

Hydroelectrically generated power is considered renewable because the river will always keep flowing bringing along more energy.
